OSB (Oriented Strand Board) also known as flakeboard, is a type of engineered lumber similar to particle board formed by adding adhesives and then compressing layers of wood strands (flakes) in specific orientations. OSB shares many of the strength and performance characteristics of plywood. OSB’s combination of wood and adhesives creates a strong, dimensionally stable panel that resists deflection, delamination, and warping; likewise, panels resist racking and shape distortion when subjected to demanding wind and seismic conditions. Relative to their strength, OSB panels are light in weight and easy to handle and install.
OSB is a material with high mechanical properties that make it particularly suitable for load-bearing applications in construction. The most common uses are as sheathing in walls, flooring, and roof decking.
Bregvald OÜ has a supply of Latvian Kronospan water-resistant OSB-3 in the following sizes (mm). Other sizes on request.
